What You Should Be Doing: English I

Your most important task right now is memorizing your lines for your R&J scenes. The sooner you understand what you’re saying, the easier (and more successful) your rehearsals will be.

You should also be thinking about/working on your character bio. On Tuesday, we’ll go over the other aspects if your promptbook assigment.

And if you want to work on an extra credit book club assignment, you can find those here.

What You Should Be Doing: American Lit

On Monday, we’ll finish reading The Crucible. On Wednesday and Friday, you’ll have time in the lab to work on your Glogster projects. To make your lab time as effective as possible, you should get your research done ahead of time. Over the next four days, do enough research on your topic to respond to the following:

  1. Examine the hysteria you find at that specific historical time.  What caused the feelings of unease?
  2. Why were particular groups scapegoated at the time?  What caused large segments of the society to be willing to scapegoat these individuals?
  3. How does this event compare/contrast to the events dramatized in The Crucible?

If you can show up on Wednesday armed with that information and analysis, you’ll be able to complete your assignment in the lab days provided.

Your Glogster Project is due Wednesday, December 12th.
